Use these questions to find a Bank Teller who’s going to be your next star player.
Bank Teller qualifications to look for
Your next bank teller should have a strong working knowledge of banking products or an interest in banking. You also want a fast learner who’s willing to invest the time they need to train.
A solid candidate should have a history of direct customer-facing and cash-handling experience. This might not always be the case, but it’s a good jumping-off point.
Keep an eye out for candidates who are:
- Organized
- Compassionate
- Excellent with time management
- Have a genuine desire to help customers
Bank tellers also need to have a sales-driven mentality, and the ability to navigate customers’ banking needs.
Though ideally, you’d like someone with previous experience, some of your best candidates may be new to the biz. If so, feel free to substitute some of your own questions.
Other interview questions to include:
- Math questions
- Open-ended behavioral questions
Top tip: Hire candidates willing to grow by making sure their personal career goals align with your company’s mission.
